Learning the Luganda Language

According to Wikipedia,"Luganda is the major language of Uganda, spoken by over sixteen million Buganda and other people mainly in Southern Uganda, including the capital Kampala. It belongs to the Bantu branch of the Niger–Congo language family. Typologically, it is a highly agglutinating language with subject–verb–object word order and nominative–accusative morphosyntactic alignment. With about seven million first-language-speakers in the Buganda region and about ten million others with a working knowledge, it is the most widely spoken Ugandan language, and as second language it follows English and precedes Swahili. The language is used in some primary schools in Buganda as pupils begin to learn English, the primary official language of Uganda. Until the 1960s, Ganda was also the official language of instruction in primary schools in Eastern Uganda."

Kenzie's Dream Come True

Kenzie's dance studio recently added Pointe to their class schedule and she is a little excited about that. It has been her dream to do Pointe and now it's finally a reality. Here's a few pics from the day we got her fitted for her shoes. Her good buddy, Sage, went with us...

These were taken on Kenzie's first day of Pointe class...

And these are some "just for fun" pics we took in downtown Tulsa...

Kenzie's Teen Ballet class recently performed a dance they learned very quickly for the parents - a little mini concert...

I've so enjoyed watching something Kenzie wanted to try when she was three turn into a huge passion of hers. She has really blossomed and I'm so proud of her hard work and motivation!

Happy 15th B-Day, Kenzie!!!

Gore, OK

Happy birthday, Kenzie! 15 years ago today you made me a momma for the first time. You didn't want to come out so you were delivered by emergency c-section. And we didn't know you were a girl until the doctor held you up and showed us. We were so thrilled and you stole mine and daddy's hearts from the moment we first laid eyes on you. Where has the time gone? I blinked and now you're 15. You can get your drivers permit in 6 months and college is just around the corner. You have matured into a beautiful young lady inside and out and we are so proud of the person you have become. We claim Jeremiah 29:11 over your life and look forward to seeing what God has in store for your future. Love you forever and always no matter what. Xoxo
