Annual Trip to Branson

We just returned from our annual trip to Branson with Steve's family. We always go this time every year and share a condo with his parents and sister's family. It's always so much fun and we hate to leave when it's over. We celebrate our family's birthdays for October & November so we celebrated his mom, sister, our nephew Riley, our oldest daughter Kenzie, & our youngest daughter Mercy...

Asher just happened to have a loose tooth (his first one!) and it only took about three people to pull it out! ;-) ...

The big highlight of the weekend is going to Silver Dollar City. The kids love the rides & I love looking at all the Christmas decorations...

We always end our trip by visiting the Grand Village Shops (aka "The Christmas Village")...

So much fun - and we are already looking forward to going back next year!

New Do's for the Littles

We took Mercy to get her hair done at a beauty salon for the first time since we've been home with her in March. We had long extension twists put in her hair right before we came home & those lasted about 6 weeks. Since then we've just gone for a more natural look to let her hair rest but we decided it was time for her to have a new hairdo. She loved getting her hair washed and fixed. Miss Jazz at Hair Luxe did a great job! ...

It was also time for Asher to get his hair shaved so we took him to see Rashad at Barber Sports Lounge...

Know Your Why

"When you know your 'why', your 'what' has more impact because you are walking towards or in your purpose." - Michael Jr. Comedy

Warning: Proud Mom Moment

I'm so very proud of our teen daughters, Kenzie (age 16) and Abby (age 14). They were asked by a local church to be the speakers at a camp in Missouri this week and share about Uganda and Sole Hope. Kenzie even drove to the camp.

I'm learning to let go and remind myself often they actually belong to God and are only in my possession for a very short while. That's a very hard lesson for me but it's part of life so I'm learning to deal with it. ;-)

I just love when I hear stories of youth today stepping outside of their boxes to chase after God and what He's passionate about. I was so not in that mindset back in the day. Life was all about me, my friends, and escaping from things that were negative in my life. Now I know we can only find true joy in Jesus.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV) - "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

Luke 16:10a - "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much."

Matthew 25:21 - "'His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"

4th of July 2016

Mercy celebrated her first 4th of July in America this year. She thought the fireworks were "awesome". Asher still isn't a fan because he thinks they are too loud - ironic as he is a very loud boy. 😂

Here's pics from celebrating with Steve's family...

Voices

Our church recently did a sermon series called "Voices". It's so great because it challenges us to not listen to the negative voices in our head and focus on Truth that can only be found in Jesus...
