Living Room Makeover

Our living room has been decorated in several colors over the past 20 years but for some reason I was always drawn to green. Check out the birdhouse mural and country decor from 2000 😂...

And then in 2006, we "updated" to more jewel tones and more hand-painted furniture...

Oh my. Those colors crack me up. So our 2020 update with greys & lighter colors were a very welcomed change! 😉

We updated the fireplace area by removing the green tile and replacing it with brick & a cedar mantle. We also added shiplap to that wall and added cedar shelves. And finally replaced our dingy carpet with large cement tiles & an updated rug.

It's still a work in progress as I'm on the hunt for light, wooden Roman shades for window treatments, new pillows for our couch, and I'll probably remove the collage wall & do something different there soon. One of the joys of having our own house - making it comfy & our own favorite spaces!

Dining Room Makeover

Our dining room has seen red and white french country from about 1998-2011...

To African from about 2012-2018...

Of course, farm house style and lighter and brighter colors became popular after that so some necessary changes needed to be made...
