Our Home Makeover

Steve & I built our house with Simmons Homes back in 1998 (before kids). Our home has seen many changes since then. Poor Steve used to say, "Most men worry about coming home and finding their wives with another man. I come home and worry another room has been painted and redecorated." 😂

Well, we paid our house off in 2018 and we figured we'll probably live here forever, God-willing. So we decided to do a major overhaul by knocking out the west wall of our house. We extended it out ten feet which made our kid's rooms, utility room, master bath & closet bigger. It was a very long year with some pretty difficult times but in the end it was very worth it. Here's a few pics from the beginning of the exterior reconstruction...

The rest of our interior before and after pics can be found here ...

ReVision Renovations did the majority of the interior construction work in our house and we highly recommend them!

Master Bedroom Makeover

We recently made over our master bedroom - again. Poor Steve. That room is hard to paint because of the tres ceiling and bulky furniture. I have to laugh at some of the changes it's been through...

1999 - Yellow walls with white sponge paint on top!
2003 - Diamonds glazed on top of blue
2006 - Gold glazed on top of mustard yellow
One of my favorite things in the picture above is the wooden box at the foot of our bed. Steve made that for me back in the day & it's been several different paint colors over the years.  But it's so useful for holding pillows and blankets. I love it so much ❤️

2010 - off-white and apple green walls

And welcome to 2020! New paint color (thanks to reVision Renovations for painting it for us this time!), new carpet, a barn door (made by our buddy, Thad), and a new seating area. We also did away with our dressers because we put built-ins in our closet when we did our Master Bathroom & Closet Makeover which freed up a lot of space in our bedroom. I spend a lot of time in this room and have enjoyed the lighter and brighter color scheme! ...

Office Makeover

Before we recently updated our office, it was our oldest daughter's temporary room while she was away for college.

We now use it mostly as a movie room and just a quiet place to snuggle up with a book. The yellow couch is my favorite!
